voo2do...2ical

  • Free?

    yep.

  • ...as in freedom?

    yep.

  • So, my password is safe right?

yep. the only thing voo2do2ical saves are email addresses that have used the service. Whenever we I ask for a password, it gets passed on immediately to the voo2do API. If you don't believe me, why dont you go look at the source?

  • Wait, so who are you?

    Yep.

  • That answer makes no sense. I didn't ask a yes or no question.

Right. My name is Scott Fleckenstein (home page). I write software because I like to. I write software for Rubyred Labs, among others. If you have any ideas for code that I should write, drop me a line. Yes, the email in that link is not encoded in any way. I have no fear of spammers, for I can give them wedgies.

  • Why?

Well, I like voo2do better than some of its competitors (ta-da, remember the milk). Its additional, "power user"-ish features are things that I want in an online-to-do-lister. Plus, I like the web -> iCal (os x) -> cell phone path that my iCalendar-based to-do lists can follow. Maintain the list on the web, and then it is accessible to me anywhere (with electricity).

voo2do doesn't have an iCal dump (as of April 2006), and I'm sure Shimon is a busy fella. So, combined with the empowering awesomeness of Web 2.0 (and the voo2do API) I created this site in one good long night of work.

  • So, will this stay free?

Do you honestly think I could charge for something as simple as this site? If you feel I deserve some props, do something cool:

    • Fight crime
    • Cure cancer
    • Don't be not cool (I'm looking at you, kitten-kicker!)
    • Send an email with your praise
    • Stop by the office and give me a hand shake, high five, hug, kiss, head pat, wink, punch-on-the-shoulder, etc. Anything but a tickle.
    • Smile at a stranger
  • Something broke! Fix it!

Send an email, i'll get to it. I'll fix it twice as fast if you give me a patch.
